I always considered myself lucky having the nickname “Zaddy” — which comes from my middle name, Zadok. But once the word took on a pop-cultural life of its own (if you know, you know), I felt serious pressure trying to live up to the hype, and I began to drink heavily (mostly very light cocktails though because my body is a temple). In 2019, my partner Colleen and I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area—where I was born and raised—to see if we could use my name and drinking habit for good (her idea). Because our favorite cocktails are gin-based and didn’t yet exist in cans, we crafted low sugar versions of them to prove that gin doesn’t suck. Despite 2020 feeling like nothing short of a back-alley beatdown, we are proud to bring you these refreshingly original, fun drinks—while also giving back to the planet before it completely goes to sh*t.
